With no healing items in the game, the damage done feels a bit more permanent, but with the Soulsinger in particular, you might be using the interrupt attack on a regular basis.īoss fights are brutal…. Then you’ve got the attacks that drain a percentage of your health and these can be some of the most helpful in the game. But be careful, enemies can also set up delayed attacks and if you don’t counter them it will hurt. Set this up correctly and you can combine multiple attacks to completely devastate a powerful enemy. Some attacks eat up more AP or are delayed, meaning they have a wind up time in the timeline. Sort of using two turns in one, with the drawback of skipping their next turn. If you use more than half your allotted AP, then your next turn gets delayed. It’s pretty standard affair where attacks and movement all eat into this. Each daughter starts with 100 AP that they can use however they want during each move. An initiative timeline system will allow you to plan your moves and attacks. This is an isometric turn-based tactics game with some rogue-like elements, in which you control your daughters. I have often ran difficult missions with two Swordmasters and a Soulsinger to back them up. You’re also not limited to have one of each in a mission. Each of these classes have their own unique abilities and modifications to suit your playstyle. Then you’ve got the Swordmaster who will do the bulk of the damage, delivering powerful melee attacks. Shieldbearer is the tank of the group, using her shield to block attacks and deliver powerful knock-backs. There are three classes to play as initially. However, she has sent her “daughters”, fragments of who she once was, as humanity’s last hope to put an end to suffering before it’s too late. Humanity’s last great warrior, The Mother, has fallen. Humanity is on the edge of extinction and the great suffering is approaching. The Soulslinger’s attacks are somewhat useless against armored enemies (unless flanking or backstabbing) however, firing off armor shredding rounds will open those enemies up to punishment from Blademasters and Scythedancers.Sincere became my favourite daughter. This will cut down the need for popping it twice. Initiative boosting works especially well with Spirit Haste as they’ll grant the target bonus initiative points. The absolute best memories to equip to the Soulslingers are initiative boosting and armor shredding. Two Soulslingers buffing attack, shooting reactionary rounds, and boosting initiative spells a bad day for the Eldritchian Horrors in their path. Be sure to cock a Shadow Round to add to the damage brigade, and Spirit Haste any sisters ahead to possibly swing for another attack. This ensures maximum damage output as her sisters wail on bosses and tougher enemies. Players should only activate this skill if they know the Soulslinger will move behind all of her sisters on the timeline. Spirit Round grants a 100% bonus to damage for ALL sisters. While the latter has a name that makes it sound like a must-have, Spirit Round will be the better situational option. This will damage and push enemies, but let’s face it, that’s what the other sisters are there for.įinally, at level 15 the Soulslinger unlocks either Spirit Round or Hail of Shards. For those curious, the other skill to choose is Projected Force. For example, don’t trigger Blacksmith’s Grace on a Shieldbearer in preparation for an incoming attack, only to boost her initiative and give her another turn. Use the skill wisely as not to waste a previously triggered ability that costs a percentage of HP. The Spirit Haste ability can also bring a sister back from a burst mode penalty. Two Soulslingers on the field will basically quarterback the battle as they decide who goes where and when. A double Spirit Haste effectively passes the Soulslinger’s turn to a different sister and allows for multiple turns/attacks to occur. This will allow her to fire off double Spirit Haste, which is pretty much game-breaking, without going into burst. If players have been leveling up & resurrecting the same Soulslinger, she'll most likely gain a boost to her AP among other buffs.

The skill becomes broken when equipped with an initiative boosting memory. This will boost a targeted sister’s initiative by 20 points.

Spirit Haste is THE life-saving skill of any difficult Synapse or Boss Fight. Level 5 introduces the most important Soulslinger skill in the game.
